We are seeking expressions of interest from eventing riders to participate in the upcoming Triequithon event to be held at Doomben Racecourse on Saturday 20 April, 2019. While we are still finalising the details and sponsors, we are looking to give our competitors as much time as possible to prepare for this prestigious event.
The objectives of the the Triequithon are:
1. Promote the suitability of the Off the Track Thoroughbred for the sport of eventing.
2. Promote the sport of eventing to a wider audience.
3. Provide eventing competitors the opportunity to raise their sporting profile and also compete for a significant prize pool.
4. Support the racing industry by enhancing the entertainment offered to the audience at a race track.
All horses must be qualified to compete at 2* level. They need to be Off The Track Thoroughbreds (registered with Racing Australia) with preference given to horses that have raced or officially trialled.

Brisbane Triequithon: Doomben 20 April, 2019
COMPETITION DETAILS
The competition will take the format of a 2* Event and will be run under the EA Eventing Rules from 1 January 2018 as applicable. The organisers reserve the right to alter the rules as necessary to facilitate conducting an abbreviated 2* Event during a race meeting.
Dressage will be an abbreviated test to 2* level. It will take approximately two minutes to ride and will be conducted on a grass arena adjacent to the racecourse.
Cross Country will be built to 2* level, however due to space and time constrictions, it will be a relatively short course.
Showjumping will be conducted on a grass arena adjacent to the track and will be built to 2* level.
All three phases will be designed to engage and entertain the audience at the racecourse. We are promoting the event as a family day and ladies day and so we anticipate a good sized crowd in the vicinity of 5,000 people.
The draw will be announced at least a week prior to the event.
Please note that you will be competing in between races and so the timetable must be STRICTLY adhered to.
Please note that horses may be swabbed before, during and/or after the event.
All riders will need to promote eventing, Triequithon, and major sponsors before, during and after the Triequithon. This will include media activities and visits to pony clubs/ riding clubs or riding schools.
Prize money will be awarded within 60 days post the event.
Riders are expected to visit their local Pony Club or Adult Riding Club to promote Off the Track Thoroughbreds and the sport of eventing. This may include a presentation about you and your horse including how you selected your horse and the training involved to compete at 2* level and/or a demonstration.
Photos and/or video of this activity will need to be posted to major sponsors' digital and social media, and shared with Triequithon, Brisbane Racing, and other associated social media distribution channels. You will need to provide a weekly post to your Facebook page, and tag major sponsors, and Triequithon up until the week after the event. The visit to your local Pony Club and the weekly Facebook page posts are also a condition to receive your prize money.
